About Us
In 1999 Peter had to close a business that he had grown very quickly, and until then, quite successfully. Two things brought about the closure. Firstly were the poor internal financial controls, which meant he missed some bad management by one of his senior team. Secondly, he now realises he had been rushed towards insolvency before all other options had been explored and knows that the liquidation had not been necessary.
Even though he had been on senior management teams and a director for decades, when he joined the board of a multi million pound company, he began to question his knowledge as a director. So he became a Chartered Director in an effort to improve his skills.
Along the way he realised that a lot of what he had accepted and assumed because he had seen others behaving that way, was wrong. He also found that a great deal of what he had done instinctively was
correct.
Since then Peter has been on a mission to ensure that all directors, particularly those new to the role, understand their position, responsibilities and liabilities. Peter will help those who have been badly guided or ill advised when setting out in business by giving them an understanding of what they need to do, both to succeed and protect themselves.
Over 40 years, Peter has had local, regional, and national responsibilities at managerial, executive, director, deputy chairman and chairman level. He has experience in housing, property, banking, construction, retail, retail technology, professional services, education and training. He also lectures in governance, cyber security, boardroom behaviour, and entrepreneurship.
